Bas\u00edlica de San Fransisco<\/h3>\n

La Bas\u00edlica de San Francisco es una de las edificaciones m\u00e1s antiguas de la ciudad nueva. Fue construida en 1875. Es un Monumento Hist\u00f3rico en donde podr\u00e1s ver el bast\u00f3n de mando del General Jos\u00e9 de San Mart\u00edn y la imagen de la Virgen del Carmen, patrona del ej\u00e9rcito de los Andes.<\/p>\n

En la Bas\u00edlica tambi\u00e9n descansan los restos de la hija del General, Mar\u00eda de las Mercedes Tomasa de San Mart\u00edn y Escalada, su esposo y una de las nietas del General.<\/p>\n

Catedral de Loreto<\/h3>\n

Frente a la Plaza Domingo Faustino Sarmiento se encuentra la Catedral de Mendoza, muy apreciada por los vitrales de su sacrist\u00eda, calificados como lo m\u00e1s valioso en arte religioso que posee la provincia. Se trata de antiguas piezas tra\u00eddas desde Francia por el primer obispo de Mendoza.[:en]<\/p>\n

Bas\u00edlica of Saint Francis<\/h3>\n

The Basilica of Saint Francis is one of the oldest buildings in the new city. It was built in 1875. It is a historical monument where you will see the baton of General Jose de San Martin and the image of the Virgen del Carmen, patroness of the Army of the Andes.<\/p>\n

In the Basilica also rest the remains of the General’s daughter, Maria de las Mercedes Tomasa San Martin and Escalada, her husband and one of the General’s granddaughters.<\/p>\n

Cathedral of Loreto<\/h3>\n

Facing the Plaza Domingo Faustino Sarmiento is the Cathedral of Mendoza, much appreciated by the windows of the sacristy, rated as the most valuable in religious art in the province.
